BALANCE
NOTE
|
| Reading in Step 3 | = 6.50 |
| Reading in Step 4 | = 4.25 |
| Subtraction | = 2.25 |
| Division (Step 6) | = 6.50/2.25= 2.89 specific gravity |
In order to determine density of a solid, place a graduated flask with a known volume of water on the pan of the balance, tare the balance, and then place the solid in the flask of water. Divide the displayed weight in grams by the increased volume of water. The result is the mass per unit volume of the solid in g/cc to the third power.
To determine the density of a liquid, place an empty graduated flask
on the balance weighing pan, tare the balance, then pour the liquid
into the graduated flask. Divide the displayed weight in grams by
the volume of the liquid. The result is the mass per unit volume
of the liquid in g/cc to the third power.
Scientech is introducing our newest balance accessory called our PDA Software. This handy accessory is a Palm PDA programmed with Scientech's customized software. This software allows you to plug and play the PDA into the RS232 port on any of our models. You will have access to all the standard features of the Palm, as well as our customized software, which will do the following special applications:
Total
remote control of the balance
Remote weighing
Remote taring
Remote time averaging
weighing used in live animal weighing and severe vibration environments
Remote ability to
change to any unit of measure desired including basis weight measurements
Program the custom
unit of measure feature to the unit of measure desired
Set balance time and
date
Enable/disable a time
and date stamp with each weight reading
Set an automatic time
period that the balance sends the reading to the Palm
Remote parts counting
either by placing a known number of parts on the pan or by entering
part unit weight
Remote process control
(check weighing) by either placing the high or low limits on the
pan or by entering the numbers
GLP weighing report
(both normal and automatic) with:
Balance serial number
Lot ID input
Date/time
Sample number and weight of each weighing
